Specialty Classes

Upcoming classes!

Technical Rescuer Confined Space Specialty Certification at Lumberton Rescue and EMS. See below dates and times. Pre-registration is required.  Students should be technical rescue certified. Rope specialty is preferred, but not required. Students are required to bring PPE to each class.

FIP5903 TR Confined Space Hazard Control (25 hours) August 6, 7, 8, 2021 0800-1700 hrs.

FIP5904 TR Confined Space Victim Management (9 hours) September 4, 2021 0800-1800 hrs.

Evening 1403 Academy (non-certification). A 1403 academy has been scheduled for Burnt Swamp and Pembroke Rural Fire Departments starting July 13, 2021 and ending on October 2, 2021. Classes will alternate between the two stations on Tuesday evenings.  Attendance at all classes meets the requirement of NFPA 1403 which allows firefighters to participate in live burn training, with the Chief’s approval.  This is a skills only academy, as there will be no testing. Resource Unit Leader (certification) Robeson County EOC, July 26-29, 2021. Class starts at 0830 hrs.  Pre-registration has to be completed through NC TERMS.

Situation Unit Leader (certification) Robeson County EOC, August 9-13, 2021. Class starts at 0830 hrs. Pre-registration has to completed through NC TERMS.

Planning Section Chief (certification) RCC Emergency Services Training Center, August 24-27. 2021. Class starts at 0830 hrs. Pre-registration has to be completed through NC TERMS.

Hazardous Materials Operations (certification) RCC Emergency Services Training Center August 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20, 2021.  Class starts at 8am each day.Pre-registration is requested.

Command and Control (non-certification) Britts Fire Department August 23, 26 and 30, 2021. Class starts at 1830 hrs. each evening. This class is open to all departments. Pre-registration is requested.

Incident Command Boot Camp (non-certification) Emergency Services Training Center August 27 and 28, 2021. Friday class is 1830-2230 hrs. and Saturday class is 0800-1700 hrs. Course incorporates computer simulation in multiple scenarios.  This class is open to all public safety professionals. Pre-registration is required as seating will be limited.

Fire and Life Safety Educator III (certification) Emergency Services Training Center October 25-29, 2021. Class starts at 0800 hrs. each day. Call the training center to pre-register. Pre-requisite is successful completion of FSLE I and II.
