Leadership II (certification) This class will be presented by Brian Wade with the NC Office of State Marshal. The class is scheduled for Tuesday, November 14, 2017 and will be held at the Emergency Services Training Center. Class begins at 0900 hrs. Pre-registration is required. Swift Water Training (certification) This is a high demand class due to the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew. This is a 56 hour course over several Saturdays and Sundays. The dates are September 23 and 30, and October 7,8,15,22 and 29, 2017. Class starts at 0900 hrs. each day. Practical evolutions will be conducted at the Cape Fear Lock and Dam near Elizabethtown. Students need to be in good physical condition and have the ability to swim. Each student is required to have a personal flotation device with knife and whistle, rope throw bag and swift water helmet. Sharing of equipment will not be allowed. This class is restricted to thirty students, so early pre-registration is strongly recommended. A link to the flyer is listed below:

Live Burn Training (Acquired Structure) RCC in conjunction with Fire Training Concepts will be conducting a live burn of a structure on Saturday, September 23, 2017. Class registration will be held at 0800 hrs. at Northwoods Fire-Rescue (Forest Acres station). Students will then proceed to the training location. Pre-registration for this class is required.
Pyrotechnic Operator Safety Course (1.4 Consumer Product Certification Class) Saturday, October 21, 2017, at the Red Springs Fire Department, 133 North Main Street in Red Springs. Class starts at 0900 hrs. This class is a pre-requisite for certification testing to become an operator of a consumer fireworks product display. Successful completion of the class will allow the student to register for testing through the NC Office of State Fire Marshal. Class size is limited to 25 students. Please call the training center to pre-register.
Fire Instructor Level 1 (certification) Lumberton Fire Department November 30th, and December 6, 9 and 12, 2017. Class starts at 0900 hrs. each day. Class will be held at the Lumberton Fire Department Central Station on Cedar Street. This is a 28 hour course and is a pre-requisite for level II instructor. Requirements to attend this class are posted on the NCOSFM website. Pre-registration is required as seating is limited.
