Successful completion of this course will allow you to take the licensure exam offered by the NC Board of Massage & Bodywork Therapy. High school diploma or GED required for entry into the program. There are only 16 seats available for this class.
Next Day Class will begin August 14th. Orientation will be August 7th at 1:00pm.

This course is designed to provide the necessary skills to work to meet the instructional requirements to become a registered barber a established by the NC Board of Barber Examiners.
With the support of RCC, you will be prepared to take the state exam and get started in your barbering career. The program is located at our Comtech Campus and is currently accepting applications.
Students will train in an on-campus barbershop located at RCC’s Comtech Campus in Pembroke. The barber program will teach the students the essentials required in providing complete hair and skin services such as facial massages, razor shaves, modern hairstyling, haircutting, coloring, and chemical services.
Students provide services to the public for $5.

This comprehensive course provides instruction and hands-on practice in the concepts and techniques of Esthetics. Topics include safety, skin care, make-up, and other required topics. Graduates should be prepared to take the North Carolina Cosmetology State Board Licensing Exam and upon passing be licensed and qualify for employment in beauty and cosmetic/skin care salons, as a platform artist, and in related businesses.

This comprehensive course provides instruction and clinical practice in manicuring, nail building (application and maintenance of artificial nails) and pedicuring. The course content includes nail anatomy, disorders of nails, and irregularities of nails; theory and salesmanship as it relates to manicuring; actual practice in manicuring; and arm, hand and foot massage.

Natural Hair Care Specialist is a 360-hour course designed to teach how to care for natural hair without the use of chemicals such as perms/relaxers and hair color. The style techniques include braiding, twisting, wrapping, extending and locking natural hair. The coursework also include teaching the proper health, safety, and sanitation procedures to avoid spreading infections. The students will be able to apply their skills to clients who visit the clinic. After successfully completing the course, the students will be able to sit for the North Carolina State Board of Cosmetic Art’s exam to become a licensed Natural Hair Care Specialist.
Online registration is not available at this time. Students may register for the class in person at RCC Main Campus (5160 N. Fayetteville Rd.) Building 18.

The Continuing Education Cosmetology course includes instruction in all phases of professional imaging, hair design, chemical processes, skin care, nail care, multi-cultural practices, business/computer principles, product knowledge, and other selected topics. Graduates will qualify to sit for the State Board of Cosmetic Arts examination. Upon successfully passing the State Board exam, graduates will be issued a license. Employment is available in beauty salons and related businesses.
