FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the First Day® Complete program?

First Day Complete is a course material model that lowers the cost of materials for students and ensures students have access to all of their required course materials on or before the first day of class. Through this new program, physical books will be conveniently packaged and provided to students on a rental basis, and digital materials will be delivered directly within the campus LMS. Costs will be included on the student’s account. At the end of the term, students will receive email reminders to return their physical course materials to the bookstore.

How does it work?
  • Register for your classes and the bookstore will start preparing your course materials
  • One month before classes start, you will receive an email instructing you to select your delivery preference (in-store pickup or shipped directly to you)
  • An email notification will be sent when your order is ready for pickup or when it ships
  • Your digital materials will be delivered for your course(s) within LMS
What is included in the program?

The program provides all required textbooks, lab manuals, access codes and digital textbook versions to eligible students.

What is excluded from the program?

The program does not include consumables that cannot be returned and reused such as lab goggles, dissection kits, molecular model kids, engineering kits or nursing kits.

How do I enroll in the program?

All eligible students will be automatically enrolled in the First Day® Complete Program.

Can I opt-out of the program?

When opting out of the First Day Complete program, you will need to purchase the book(s) for your class(es) yourself.

If cost is an issue, it is recommended that before you opt out, to contact the bookstore to get the book(s) purchase price because it may be more than if you participate in the program.

Opting out is for the term (not per course or per session). If you opt out and add class(es) later, you will need to purchase those book(s) as well.

If you choose to opt out, you must do so by or before the deadline date of your earliest session’s census date.

Example:  If you opt out for the term and are registered for 16-week classes and 12-week classes you would need to opt out for the term by the deadline of your earliest session’s census date. For this example, that would be January 18.

* If you are registered in 1st 8-week session class(es) and 16-week session class(es) or later, you will need

to opt out for the term by your earliest session’s census date.

If this example, you would opt out for the term by January 11.

Once the deadline for your first session has passed, opting out is no longer an option even if you are registered in or add classes in a later session.
