Associate Degree Nursing

The Associate Degree Nursing curriculum provides knowledge, skills, and strategies to integrate safety and quality into nursing care, to practice in a dynamic environment, and to meet individual needs that impact health, quality of life, and achievement of potential.  Coursework includes and builds upon the domains of healthcare, nursing practice, and the holistic individual. Content emphasizes the nurse as a member of the interdisciplinary team providing safe, individualized care while employing evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and informatics.

Department of Nursing Student Handbook

Associate in Applied Science (AAS) programs are designed to provide entry-level employment training and range from 64 to 76 semester hours. A full-time student can typically complete one of these programs within two years. All two-year degree programs at RCC comply with the program standards established by the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS). In addition to major course work, associate in applied science degree programs require a minimum of 15 semester hours of general education.
