RCC Salon Reopens June 2; Grand Re-Opening to be Held June 9
Say goodbye to bad hair days. The salon at Robeson Community College will be re-opening on June 2. The salon will be open on Wednesdays and Thursdays each week from 8:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
On June 2 and June 3, the college will have a soft opening of the salon that will allow cosmetology students the opportunity to iron out logistics, gain feedback from customers, and help build anticipation before the grand re-opening that will be held next week on Tuesday, June 9.
During both weeks, patrons will receive a 50% discount on up to two services. This discount will be applied to services received on June 2, June 3, June 9, and June 10. On the day of the grand opening, the salon will have drawings for door prizes.
The salon was temporarily shut down during COVID, but now that restrictions have been lifted, cosmetology students are looking forward to things getting back to normal.
“We are just so excited,” exclaimed Rosita Pingol, program director of the cosmetology program at RCC. “The students are so excited to get back to working on real clients and we are so excited to welcome back our regular clients.”
Pingol wants to remind everyone that the salon they saw pre-COVID, will not be the same salon they see on opening day.
“Our salon has been completely renovated.”
The salon was retrofitted during the shut-down and now features a completely new layout, larger workstations, and European bowls, giving it a more modern and sophisticated look.
“The upgrades give our students so much more to work with,” said Pingol.
She adds, “I would like to thank the community for coming back to support us. In August, our CCP students from the high schools will be coming back, so we’re just thrilled to have a new look and feel for our salon, to be welcoming back our customers and our students, and to just be taking steps to getting back to normal.”
The salon at RCC offers haircuts, perms, waxing, coloring, manicures, hair treatments, pedicures, and more.
