Robeson Community College graduates 19 practical nursing students

This July, 19 students completed the requirements for the practical nursing program at Robeson Community College.

Kedsmond Brown, Bryana Carrington, Erika Castrejon, Belinda Goff-Kroes, Yaquelin Gonzalez, Tahlya Graham, Madison Hammonds, Patsy Hardin, Ashlyn Hunt, Caitlyn Jarman, Migdalia Lozano-Garcia, Shiquita McCrae, Jesenia Perez-Garcia, Toni Ramsey, Temeshia Regan, Brittany Salaiz, Bernadette Sampson, Sylvia Swindell, and Shan Woodell were celebrated with a traditional pinning ceremony, in which family members walked on stage to pin their soon-to-be-nurse.

Shan Woodell was the recipient of the Academic Achievement and Leadership award, and Jesenia Perez Garcia was named Clinical Excellence Award winner.

In addition to being pinned, e­­ach student received a lamp, which was lit at the end, as they recited the Florence Nightingale Pledge.

“I extend congratulations to all the practical nursing graduates; please know we are so very proud of all of you,” stated RCC President Melissa Singler. “Soon you will become Licensed Practical Nurses and you will enter the medical profession prepared and ready for the workforce, thanks to the amazing training you have received from faculty and staff at Robeson Community College…I wish you all the best, I know you will go on to do great things with your life.”
