Robeson Community College #GivingTuesdayNow
#GivingTuesdayNow is a global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5, 2020. Now, more than ever, so many people need help.
Just here in our community, the past 5 years have been very difficult. In 2016 we experienced a 500-year flood with Hurricane Matthew. In 2018, we experienced yet another 500-year flood with Hurricane Florence. Now, in 2020, we are facing the COVID-19 global pandemic.
It is safe to say that here in Robeson County, we all know someone who has been affected by one or all of these events. There are so many people and families who were struggling before 2016 and are struggling even more now.
We want the Robeson Community College family to find some type of normalcy while pursuing their education and continuing the hard work of creating a successful college journey. Our community has forever been changed and we must come together in support of our students, faculty and staff.
From now through May 5, we will be raising money to purchase food to help members of our RCC family. We will be sharing information about #GivingTuesdayNow and sharing ways you can help us help others. All our efforts will lead to a 24-hour day of giving on May 5.
Please consider making a monetary donation, meaningful to you, to assist in purchasing food for our campus community; food brings comfort and comfort is what we all need during this unprecedented time. Our goal is $2500 and it would go so far to help feed the families of our family.
