RCC’s Slam Dunk Registration Tuesday, March 11 to feature free haircuts and more
It’s RCC Madness in March and RCC officials say, “It’s time to get back in the game!”
Make a slam dunk at Robeson Community College on March 11 and experience nothing but net.
A special registration drive has been scheduled to provide a one stop shop for new prospective and current students. Assistance will be available to complete the RCC application, file the FAFSA, and register for upcoming classes.
RCC’s 8-week term for the Spring semester will begin March 17 and summer classes will begin May 27. Registration for continuing education courses is ongoing as new programs start frequently throughout the semester.
“If you think about 8-week classes in basketball terms, it’s like the overtime for our Spring semester,” stated Wendy Fields, an English instructor at Robeson Community College. “It’s a great opportunity for you to score some points by completing more general education credits and it’s essentially like taking a jump shot to get ahead on the scoreboard.”
“If you can get one or two additional classes in by the end of the spring semester, when the buzzer rings, you’ll definitely be the winner,” Fields added.
Slam Dunk registration will run throughout the day on Tuesday, March 11 in the Student Center, located in Building 13. All student services support staff on hand to assist students as needed.
In addition to registration, there will be many free services available to the public from students enrolled at Robeson Community College.
Free Haircuts
RCC Barbering Students will be set up in Building 13 providing free haircuts to the public from 10am – 2pm. No matter your style, barber students can tailor your cut to your preferences and give you a fresh, new look or help you maintain your current trim, using the various techniques they have learned in class.
Free Paraffin Wax Dips, Arm and Hand Massages

From 8am – 11:45pm and 12:30pm – 1:30pm, patrons can receive a free paraffin wax hand dip as well as an arm and hand massage. These services will only be available in the RCC Salon located in Building 3 by the front entrance of campus. Visitor parking is available directly behind the rose garden.
