RCC’s July 26th College Admissions Day offers free haircuts, blood pressure checks, and registration too

Robeson Community College will host its second College Admissions Day event on July 26 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Student Center located in Building 13.

“This special day is a one-stop shop for Fall 2023 registration and it is a way to get incoming and prospective students excited and ready for classes that begin in August,” stated RCC President Melissa Singler. “Students can apply, tour campus, complete financial aid, and register for classes all in one day.”

As an added bonus, the RCC Barber Shop from the COMTech Campus in Pembroke will be setting up on the main campus in Lumberton providing free haircuts to the general public. Barber students will be providing styles, cuts, and fades from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

In addition, nurse aide students will be providing free blood pressure checks from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. to the general public.

“Our Nurse Aide and Barber students would love to have an opportunity to serve you,” stated Singler. “This is not only a chance for you to get a free summer haircut and a free blood pressure reading, but it’s also a great way for our students to gain hands-on experience and gain confidence in their skills and abilities as they prepare for the workforce.”

The majority of RCC’s Fall 2023 classes begin August 14, but the college also has many other start dates throughout the semester for 14-week, 12-week, 10-week, and 8-week classes. Robeson Community College also offers hundreds of continuing education classes that start throughout the semester, as well as adult high school courses that lead to the completion of a high school diploma.

Registration is open for all sections. Students are encouraged to register early and reserve their seat to get the best class schedule that fits their needs and lifestyle.  

“We offer something for everyone,” Singler said. “I encourage everyone to come out, meet our staff, talk with advisors, and discover the opportunities available at Robeson Community College.”
