RCC Secures Over $130,000 in Grant Funding

RCC has been awarded two grants totaling $136,778 provided by the Native American Agriculture Fund

The Scholarship Grant will fund scholarships to Native students that have an interest in agriculture. This will be paired with RCC’s and NC State University’s PackTrac program. PackTrac is a collaborative program that provides academic training and more importantly, advising to students passionate about agriculture and those who wish to earn a degree from NCSU. The grant will allow RCC to offer 10 scholarships within the 24 month project period. Students will have the opportunity to attend events that will expose them to professionals in various agriculture disciplines.

The Business of Farming Grant will provide the necessary business insight to current and prospective Native American farmers and ranchers to operate a small farm. Granit Training Group & Next Right Decision, in partnership with RCC, will provide workshops & seminars focusing on agribusiness. If students attend all seminars, they will have an actionable agribusiness plan, receive individual coaching, access to various templates and access to lending options.
