RCC Science Club Car Wash to be held September 19
The Science Club at Robeson Community College is hosting a car wash fundraiser to raise money for field trips that will take place later this Fall and next Spring, and they need your help.
You can assist these students simply by getting your car washed, for a donation of any amount, on Thursday, September 19 from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The car wash will take place behind Building 6, on the west side of campus, where the physical plant is located.
“We are raising funds for the science club students to go to the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher this fall and the Discovery Place Science Museum in Charlotte this Spring,” stated Courtney Kigore, a science instructor at RCC. “The students are very excited about this opportunity to raise money and are looking forward to the opportunity to travel. Each trip can cost around $300 with gas, food, and tickets.”
The fundraiser is donation based and will be cash only.
“I hope we can raise at least $500,” Kilgore said. “Trips like this are important because it enhances the overall college experience a student has and it is something that they will always remember when they reflect back on their time spent at Robeson Community College.”
