RCC honors employees during “Star-Studded” appreciation event

It was all glitz and glam as faculty and staff made their way down the red carpet for a special employee recognition day event at Robeson Community College. The employees were the stars and as administrators would say, they definitely stole the show.

With an all-access Hollywood pass, employees were treated to breakfast, professional development, a game show, lunch, and an award ceremony in the afternoon.

“My favorite part was the game show,” stated one faculty member.

“I loved the speaker, he said a lot of really good things,” stated a staff member. “I’ll remember him.”

“I love the food,” stated an instructor as she enjoyed her lunch. “This desert is really good.”

“Look at all the people dressed up, everyone looks so good,” stated another employee.

“I love events like this, it is nice to be able to come together and enjoy a day to connect with each other,” stated an administrator.

“I loved being on RCC’s Family Feud, it’s my favorite game show,” stated an employee who participated in the game on stage. “We lost terribly, but we had a lot of fun.”

In the afternoon, it was “Lights, Camera, Appreciation” as the college recognized full-time employees for their years of service.

The Breakout Star Award goes to employees who are rising stars and have made a significant impact in a relatively short period of time. This award went to Christian Cummings – Staff; and Dr. Elizabeth Hernandez – Faculty.

The Encore Excellence Award honors those who have consistently demonstrated an outstanding performance throughout the year with dedication, making a lasting impact on Robeson Community College. And the winners of this honor are Dr. Dionne Pursley – Staff; and Tammy Brayboy – Faculty.

Employees awarded the Best Supporting Role showed the most initiative and desire to go above and beyond the outlined duties of their job description. This year the award goes to Dr. Melissa Oxendine – Staff; and Candice Ward – Faculty.

And, last, but not least, the award for best dressed went to Robin Blue and Roscoe Smith.
