Robeson Community College

RCC Face Covering Requirement

Based on CDC guidance, and the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Robeson County, the state of North Carolina and elsewhere, Robeson Community College will require face coverings in indoor settings for both vaccinated and unvaccinated faculty, staff, students and visitors beginning tomorrow, August 3, 2021. Face coverings were an integral part of our COVID-19 management plan last year and helped to keep our campus community safe. We are again putting this safety precaution in place as part of our efforts to preserve and protect a successful fall semester for everyone.

We will consider several factors before making the decision to alter face covering requirements, including federal, state and local health policies and guidance, the level of transmission in Robeson County and North Carolina, and the overall vaccination rate in our state. Hopefully, vaccination rates in our county and state will continue to increase to a level that public health experts indicate would provide greater protection against COVID-19 and its variants.

If you do not have a face mask, coverings are conveniently available in each building at the COVID-19 stations located by the entrances, along with hand sanitizer, which we encourage you to use.

The most effective protection against COVID-19 is getting vaccinated. Unvaccinated individuals pose a risk not only to themselves but to those around you including people who are immunocompromised and to children who are too young to be vaccinated. It remains critical that our faculty, staff and students exercise personal responsibility to protect themselves and their loved ones from the spread of COVID-19 by obtaining the free and widely available COVID-19 vaccine.

Robeson Community College will be hosting a FREE vaccination clinic for all unvaccinated faculty, staff, students, and members of our community. The clinic will be held on Wednesday, August 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in Building 13. The Pfizer vaccine will be available, and it will be administered by Walgreens.

I hope that you will take advantage of the free clinic coming up or that you’ll go immediately to Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, etc. to get the vaccine today. To find a location offering the vaccine close to you, please visit https://covid19.ncdhhs.gov/vaccines.

Thank you for choosing to work, learn and train at Robeson Community College!

Thank you,
Melissa Singler
