New Year’s Registration Celebration planned for January 5 at RCC

Robeson Community College Community College will be kicking off the New Year with its first ever registration celebration on January 5. The event will be held in Building 13 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and will offer students an opportunity to complete their application, file the FAFSA, and register for classes.

“If you’ve always wanted to get a degree, this is the perfect chance to visit Robeson Community College and discover all the opportunities available as you look to achieve your dreams and start a new chapter in 2022,” said RCC President Melissa Singler.

Free coffee from Starbucks will be available, as well as free doughnuts from Cakes and Pastries, while supplies last.

Also new this Spring at RCC, students may be eligible to receive all their Spring 2022 curriculum classes for free. Free college is available to students who enroll in at least 6 credit hours in a curriculum program and qualify for assistance. This funding is being made available through federal, state, and other resources to help students recover from the pandemic. Students who may not have qualified for financial assistance in the past, may be eligible to receive free class in Spring 2022 due to financial aid guidelines that have changed due to COVID.

RCC is committed to exhausting every possibility in trying to locate funding sources for each student. Financial aid staff will be available during the event to assist students in determining eligibility and to answer any questions about the process.

“This is a chance of a lifetime, so if you are looking for a new path in 2022, please come see us January 5th,” Singler said.

Singler adds, “Whether you want to  take college transfer classes, learn trade skills like welding, electrical, or robotics, get training in cyber security, networking, and programming; gain skills in accounting, business administration, cosmetology; or decide to serve your community by enrolling in basic law enforcement training, emergency medical science, teacher preparation, or early childhood education, Robeson Community College offers many programs that can help you get to where you want to be.”

The college currently boasts a catalog of over 80 programs of study, from university transfer programs to public service, that lead to an associate’s degree, diploma or certificate.

Spring 2022 classes begin January 10. For more information on the New Year’s Registration Celebration at RCC, please visit our website at robeson.edu.
