Sending thoughts, prayers to Western North Carolina
Robeson Community College sends its heartfelt sympathies to those impacted by Hurricane Helene and to our colleagues and students at our sister institutions in the mountains within the North Carolina Community College System.
“Our hearts break for our friends, family, and neighbors in Western North Carolina,” stated RCC President Melissa Singler. “Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you face this unexpected, unprecedented devastation and tragedy.”
“There are no words to describe what has happened and we are deeply moved by your courage, strength, and resolve as you seek to recover and rebuild,” Singler said.
“Together we are the “Old North State,” the land of the Long Leaf Pine,… where the weak grow strong and the strong grow great….Where the rhododendron’s roseate glows, Where soars Mount Mitchell’s summit great, in the ‘Land of the Sky,” the Old North State.”
“Together, we are #WNCStrong.”
