Interlibrary loans

What may be requested?

Books and articles that you cannot locate electronically or in print through the RCC Library.  Exception: The RCC Library will not request course textbooks for students.

Before making an ILL request:

If you are looking for a book, remember to check RCC’s collection of e-books to determine whether it is available electronically. Still can’t find it? Complete the Interlibrary Loan Book Request Form, which will be forwarded to the library team.

If you are looking for a particular article from a journal, newspaper, or magazine, remember to check NC LIVE to see if the article is available electronically. Complete the Interlibrary Loan Article Request Form, which will be forwarded to the library team.

When will my book or article arrive?

Interlibrary loan requests may take at least ten working days to arrive at the RCC Library. You will be notified by e-mail when the Library has received the book or article.

Terms & conditions:

Every effort will be made to obtain articles from lending libraries that do not charge; however, in the event that a charge is made, the cost will be passed on to the requesting patron. The RCC Library has borrowing privileges from within the CCLINC system (a consortium of Community College Libraries in North Carolina), as well as through OCLC (Online Computer Library Center), which is a nationwide service. Patrons must have a current RCC I.D/library card. Up to five interlibrary loan requests may be made at one time. Finally, the College requires that patrons clear up all existing fees owed to the Library before interlibrary loan requests will be processed.
