Please know that Robeson Community College is working diligently to share information with our students, faculty, and staff on the Coronavirus-19 (COVID -19) as it becomes available. The Coronavirus is a respiratory illness with symptoms of fever, cough, and shortness of breath, similar to the flu. Governor Roy Cooper, as a proactive measure, has declared a State of Emergency in North Carolina over the COVID-19 outbreak. A state of emergency enables government officials to take the necessary precautions to mitigate the risk associated with natural and/or man-made emergencies.
We all share in the responsibility of helping to prevent the spread of the illness and can do so by taking the necessary precautions:
- Wash your hands.
- Don’t touch your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Stay away from sick people.
- Clean and disinfect surfaces using regular household cleaning spray or wipes.
- Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue and throw the tissue in the trash.
- Stay home if you’re sick and don’t send sick children to school or childcare.
