Participation in the Adult High School (AHS) will not only grant students an opportunity to earn a high school diploma, but they will also become eligible to receive a Career Readiness Certificate and to enroll in Continuing Education Courses.
BLS – CPR TRAINING
This course meets the requirements for Child Care, Nursing Assistant, Nursing, and other agencies that require the American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR card. Written and performance testing is required. This class is offered on campus on the first, second, and fourth Friday each month from 0830-1330. A course completion card will be issued within 20 days of successful course completion. This class is offered on our main campus, building 17 Health Science Room 1751-B upstairs

CPR Classes
It’s the mission of the English Language Acquisition Program to provide the local community of English language learners with high-quality English Language Acquisition (ELA) instruction and orientation in U.S. culture. Through this program, English language learners will acquire language skills needed for their personal, social, academic and career goals.
This comprehensive course provides instruction and hands-on practice in the concepts and techniques of Esthetics. Topics include safety, skin care, make-up, and other required topics. Graduates should be prepared to take the North Carolina Cosmetology State Board Licensing Exam and upon passing be licensed and qualify for employment in beauty and cosmetic/skin care salons, as a platform artist, and in related businesses.
Successful completion of this course will allow you to take the licensure exam offered by the NC Board of Massage & Bodywork Therapy. High school diploma or GED required for entry into the program. There are only 16 seats available for this class.

This comprehensive course provides instruction and clinical practice in manicuring, nail building (application and maintenance of artificial nails) and pedicuring. The course content includes nail anatomy, disorders of nails, and irregularities of nails; theory and salesmanship as it relates to manicuring; actual practice in manicuring; and arm, hand and foot massage.
Natural Hair Care Specialist is a 360-hour course designed to teach how to care for natural hair without the use of chemicals such as perms/relaxers and hair color. The style techniques include braiding, twisting, wrapping, extending and locking natural hair.
The Nurse Aide curriculum will prepare you to work under the supervision of licensed nursing professionals in performing nursing care and services for persons of all ages. Course topics include Growth and Development, Personal Care, Vital signs, sterile technique, wound care and more.
The Nurse Aide I Refresher Course consists of a brief review of the Nurse Aide I course and competency exam required for listing as a Nurse Aide I.
