College Admissions Day set for June 29

Robeson Community College will be hosting College Admissions Day on Wednesday, June 29 from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. in the Student Center located in Building 13. A second College Admissions Day will be held on Wednesday, July 27.

“College Admissions Day is a one-stop shop in which new students can complete everything necessary to enroll, all in one day and in one place,” said RCC President Melissa Singler. “It’s going to be a great day and I am looking forward to meeting our students that will be attending in the fall.”

Assistance will be available for students who need complete the RCC Application or apply for financial aid and file the FAFSA. Once the application process is completed, students will then be able to register for classes.

Campus tours will be available on the top of every hour, allowing students to become familiar with the campus and learn more about the college.

Students are urged to inquire to learn more about the free tuition opportunities that are available for the Fall 2022 semester through federal, state, and other funding resources. Students must apply to determine eligibility, but the process is as easy as 1, 2, 3.

Step #1 – Complete your RCC application at www.robeson.edu/apply  
Step #2 – Complete the FAFSA.   
Step #3 – Complete the RCC Financial Aid Intake-form available online using your RCC credentials. Students can also access the intake form by clicking on the Quick Links menu bar on the homepage and selecting “E-Forms.”

“There has never been a better time to attend Robeson Community and earn a degree,” said Singler. “We are excited to be able to offer free tuition to eligible students… As President, I get to see so many lives transformed by the power of education. Education doesn’t just change your life, but it changes the life and trajectory of your family for future generations.”

The college offers over 80 programs of study leading to an associate’s degree, diploma or certificate, as well as hundreds of short-term training program that get individuals job ready and prepared for the workforce.

One of the most enrolled programs, the college transfer program, allows students the opportunity to transfer seamlessly to any of the 16 institutions of higher learning in the UNC System.

“This is your time to discover what you are really passionate about and to prepare for the career of your dreams, whether that means earning an associate’s degree and transferring to a 4-year institution to become a teacher, scientist, lawyer, or a doctor or enrolling in a career and technical program to prepare for working in business and industry,” said Singler. “Our graduates leave RCC and work to save lives as nurses, EMTs, and in other healthcare fields; they protect and serve our community in law enforcement and as firefighters; they troubleshoot the malfunctions of assembly lines critical to our supply chain; they detect cyber security threats to digital infrastructures; and they help increasing someone’s self-esteem as a cosmetologist.”

Singler adds that, “Every program that Robeson Community College offers allows students to make a difference in our community and change the lives of others… I hope that you will come visit us on June 29th and allow us the opportunity to help you create a new pathway for your life.”

Everyone in the community is invited to attend.

As a special treat, DJ’s Gunner Jackson from WKML and G Moniy from Foxy 99 will be on campus to sign autographs and to help students rock out during registration. Students can catch WKML on campus from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and WZFX from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
