Career and College Promise Open House set for January 26

Robeson Community College in partnership with the Public Schools of Robeson County will host an open house on January 26 at 6:00 p.m. for high school students. The event will be held in the ADL Auditorium in Building 15.

The open house will be an opportunity for students to learn about free college courses at Robeson Community College that high school juniors and seniors can take that transfer to all schools within the UNC system.

“CCP is a commitment to helping every qualified student gain access to an affordable college education,” stated RCC President Melissa Singler. “The program is completely free for Robeson County students and is open to all those who maintain an unweighted 2.8 GPA and meet other eligibility requirements.”

Potential savings on tuition and fees for students who take at least 15 credit hours of career and college promise classes during high school can top over $25,000.

“We would love to see as much participation as possible from our high school students,” stated Singler. “This is an amazing opportunity for students to discover new interests, uncover hidden talents, or get ahead by taking college transfer classes that will transfer towards a bachelor’s degree.”

All high school students who reside in Robeson County are invited to attend with their parents. Students may be enrolled in PSRC, private schools or be homeschooled.
