Blood Drive to be held Jan. 27 at RCC’s COMtech Site

Robeson Community College in partnership with the American Red Cross will host a blood drive on Monday, January 27 at its COMtech location in Pembroke. The blood drive will be held from 11:00 a.m, to 3:30 p.m. at 124 Livermore Drive, Pembroke. 

According to the American Red Cross website, severe winter weather and wildfires have forced thousands of blood donations to go uncollected.

“There is a critical need for platelets, as well as an emergency shortage for types O negative and B negative blood. Donors are needed TODAY!” the website reads. 

Donors will need to bring a valid photo ID and be well hydrated prior to giving blood.
