40 attend information sessions for new classes in Maxton

Robeson Community College has received an overwhelming response to the new classes being offered in Maxton, as the college seeks to increase access to educational opportunities on the west side of the county, making the case for expansion.

“We had a great turnout for the Information Sessions at Maxton on Monday,” stated Julie Bailey, the director of workforce solutions at RCC. “We had approximately 40 individuals come out to register for the upcoming electrical class and adult high school class.”

Representatives from Financial Aid were also on hand to assist students in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA.

“We are still getting calls from individuals who could not make it to the meeting, but are very interested in attending classes at the Maxton Learning Academy,” Baxley said.
