Information Technology
The Information Technology (IT) curriculum prepares graduates for employment in the technology sector as designers, testers, support technicians, system administrators, developers, or programmers who use computer software and\or hardware to design, process, implement and manage information systems in specialties such as database services, security, business intelligence, healthcare informatics and others depending on the technical path selected within this curriculum.
Career Outlook
Graduates should qualify for employment in entry-level positions with businesses, educational systems, and governmental agencies that rely on computer systems to design and manage information. The program will incorporate the competencies of industry-recognized certification exams.

Analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving/troubleshooting capabilities, as well as the ability to work with others, and effective oral and written communication skills.
The Information Technology AAS Degrees are 70-credit hour programs. There is a basic core of credit hours. The programs also consist of 15 general education credit hours.
Coursework includes the development of a student’s ability to create, store, communicate, exchange, and use the information to solve technical issues related to information support and services, interactive media, network systems, programming and software development, information security, and other emerging technologies based on the selected area of study.

This certificate program is designed to provide individuals with a basic understanding of Information Technology. Holders of this certificate would be able to provide basic troubleshooting for residential and small business computers.
Furthermore, this Career and Technical Education (CTE) Certificate provides high school students with an opportunity to take courses common to both the Information Technology Network Management and Support & Services tracks. Upon completion of this certificate, students will be able to enter either track without losing course credit or needing to take additional courses to complete the track.

Information Technology Cyber Security (Certificate)
The Cyber Security Certificate curriculum will expose students to current technologies used to provide secure transportation of information across networks. Students will study network and security architecture and security administration. Certificate recipients may enter the workforce in an entry-level security position, while recipients currently in the workforce may advance to first-level security careers.
