RCC Board of Trustees Elects Leadership for 2026-2027

LUMBERTON, N.C. —The Robeson Community College Board of Trustees has reelected Mrs. Faline Dial to serve a second consecutive term as Chair for the 2026-2027 year, reaffirming its confidence in her leadership and commitment to advancing Robeson Community College’s mission. The Board also reelected Mr. Kyle R. Chavis to serve as Vice Chair. In addition, Chavis was recently reappointed by the North Carolina General Assembly to serve another four-year term on the Board of Trustees.

Mrs. Dial, who joined the Board in November 2020, has been a dedicated advocate for student success and community engagement. A respected entrepreneur, she is the owner of Speech N Progress, Inc. in Pembroke and PFD Services, LLC with her husband, Patrick. In addition to her service on the College’s Board of Trustees, she serves as the Robeson County Commissioner for District 4, where she supports education, the Clean & Green initiative, and infrastructure improvements throughout the county. Her combined experience in business and public service brings a compassionate and well-rounded perspective to the leadership of Robeson Community College.

“I appreciate the confidence and trust of the Board to serve as Chair for a second year,” said Dial. “I look forward to continuing to move Robeson Community College in an upward direction to support our students and the community as a whole.”

The Board also reelected Mr. Kyle R. Chavis as Vice Chair. Chavis, who was first appointed to the Board in 2014, serves as Chief Executive Officer of Lumbee Guaranty Bank and has been an active advocate for higher education and economic development throughout the region. In addition to his leadership at Lumbee Guaranty Bank, he serves on the Board of Directors for the UNC-P Foundation, the Finance Committee for Scotland Healthcare System, the Board of Directors of Community Bankers Bank, and the Bank Education Committee and Minority Bank Advisory Council for the Independent Community Bankers Association.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue serving our county, our college, and especially our students at RCC as a trustee,” said Chavis. “I hope to continue to serve in whatever capacity our Board deems necessary. I am looking forward to continuing to work on strategies that will help Robeson Community College assist the greatest number of students by preparing them for their careers or their further educational pursuits.”

President Melissa Singler congratulated both leaders on their election and expressed appreciation for their continued service.

“Mrs. Dial and Mr. Chavis exemplify the leadership, vision, and commitment that help move Robeson Community College forward,” said Singler. “Together with our Board of Trustees, they remain focused on creating opportunities for student success, strengthening our workforce, and serving the citizens of Robeson County.
