Nurse Aide

The Nurse Aide curriculum prepares individuals to work under the supervision of licensed nursing professionals in performing nursing care and services for persons of all ages.

Topics include growth and development, personal care, vital signs, communication, nutrition, medical asepsis, therapeutic activities, accident and fire safety, household environment and equipment management, family resources and services, and employment skills.

Upon completion, the student may be eligible for listing as a Nurse Aide I and other selected Nurse Aide registries, as determined by the local program of study.

Nurse Aide I

Nurse Aide I training includes basic nursing skills required to provide safe, competent personal care for individuals with an emphasis on:

  • Person-Centered Care
  • Aging Process
  • Communication
  • Safety/Emergencies
  • Infection Prevention
  • Legal and Ethical Issues
  • Elimination
  • Nutrition
  • Basic Restorative Care and Rehabilitation
  • Dementia
  • Mental Health

Nurse Aide II

Nurse Aide II is offered through a curriculum. The next class will begin in January 2026. Please contact our Admissions Department at 910 272-3342 regarding admission requirements and the registration process for this course.  A high school diploma or equivalent is required for all curriculum courses.

Nurse Aide I Refresher

The Nurse Aide I Refresher Course consists of a brief review of the Nurse Aide I course and competency exam required for listing as a Nurse Aide I. If you have any questions, please contact Katelynn Scott at kscott@robeson.edu or 910-272-3482.

This class contains face-to-face class time, as well as a required online component.
