RCC to Host 2nd Annual Diamond Jubilee Sneaker & Tuxedo Ball
Lumberton, NC— Robeson Community College announces its 2nd Annual Diamond Jubilee Sneaker & Tuxedo Ball, an evening where elegance meets high-energy, all in support of student success.
The signature fundraising event will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on the campus of Robeson Community College, located at 5160 Fayetteville Road in Lumberton.
Guests can expect a dynamic night filled with style, entertainment, music, and community spirit as supporters come together to benefit RCC’s Athletics Program. Proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorships will directly support RCC student-athletes, providing resources and opportunities that help them excel both on and off the field.

This year’s gala is proudly presented by Metcon, Inc., a Native American-owned (Lumbee Tribe) construction firm founded in 1999 in Pembroke, NC. Specializing in general contracting, construction management, and design-build services, Metcon is known for its focus on sustainable, high-performance buildings and infrastructure and has built a strong reputation as a leader in higher education and K-12 school construction across the Carolinas.
“As a member of the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina Board of Directors, I believe community colleges are one of the most important drivers of economic development in North Carolina,” said Aaron Thomas, President & CEO of Metcon, Inc. “They prepare the workforce that allows business to grow and communities to thrive.”
Thomas noted that supporting Robeson Community College aligns closely with the company’s values. “Supporting RCC Athletics aligns closely with Metcon’s core values of People, Integrity, Commitment, and Community,” Thomas said. “Student-athletes gain more than just time on the field, they develop discipline, teamwork, resilience, and leadership while pursuing their education. Those experiences help prepare them not only for graduation, but ultimately for meaningful careers where they can contribute to their communities and our state’s economy.”
“We are proud to support Robeson Community College and the important role it plays in building opportunity and strengthening our community,” he added.
This year’s celebration will also feature live entertainment by Soul Expression. Known for their powerhouse vocals and electrifying stage presence, the band promises an unforgettable performance that will keep guests dancing throughout the evening.
RCC also recognizes the Robeson County Board of Commissioners as the event’s Community Champion Sponsor, and A.S. Thomas as a Community Leader Sponsor.
Community members, alumni, and supporters are encouraged to mark their calendars and attend this signature celebration. The 2nd Annual Diamond Jubilee Sneaker & Tuxedo Ball promises to be a memorable evening in support of a meaningful cause, strengthening RCC Athletics and expanding opportunities for student success.
