RCC is living local on WBTW

As part of the campaign to raise awareness of apprenticeship programs at Robeson Community College, RCC will be featured in several segments on the WBTW morning show ‘Living Local Carolina’ with host Jessica Grace next week.

The segments will air June 6 through June 10 during the broadcast which airs from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. each day. The segments were made possible through funding received from ApprenticeshipNC.

The theme of each segment will be centered around apprenticeships, as Robeson Community College continues targets businesses in the region to join RCC in establishing apprenticeship programs for its students.

During the broadcasts, viewers will get to hear different voices of the college and become informed of various programs the college has to offer.

Effective July 1, employers can receive up to $2000 for each eligible apprentice hired, along with receiving up to 50% reimbursement for wages up to $15 per hour, thanks to funding passed by the North Carolina Legislature.

In addition, students who become an apprentice can receive up to $2500 per year to cover costs for tuition, fees, books, and supplies.
