RCC Foundation raises more than $4000 during Giving Tuesday
The RCC Foundation is excited to announce that it raised more than $4000 during Giving Tuesday.
The Right of Way Group, LLC of Lumberton pledged $1000 in support of RCC by matching gifts received on November 30 in honor and memory of Trooper Kevin Conner.
“Our campus and our community really came together in support of RCC on Giving Tuesday,” said Jessica Bullard, director of the RCC Foundation. “We had several employees, students, and members of our community give generously out of their own pocket, allowing us to meet our goal of raising at least $1000 to have our donations matched by Right of Way LLC.”
The money raised will be used in the college’s emergency student relief fund, with $1000 being designated to Kevin K. Connor Scholarship for BLET students at Robeson Community College.
“Giving Tuesday is a global movement that encourages people to do good, and we are so proud that the RCC Foundation was able to be a part of this network for good this year,” said Bullard. “We have so much to be thankful for, and we are so thankful for our donors who helped us surpass our goal. We can’t say ‘thank you’ enough to all those who gave. The money raised will truly make a difference for so many of our students.”
Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea that has now grown into a global network that inspires hundreds of millions of people around the world to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Whether it is making someone smile, helping a neighbor, or giving to someone in need, every act of generosity counts, and everyone has something to give.
