RCC Extends Deadline for BLET Academy to January 5

The deadline to apply for the Spring 2023 Daytime Basic Law Enforcement Training Academy at Robeson Community College has been extended. Applications are now due by 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 5.

Mandatory orientation for BLET has also been extended, and will take place on Friday, January 6 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The BLET Academy at Robeson Community College is FREE with a required sponsorship and financial aid may be available to cover the costs of books and uniforms. Satisfactory completion of the academy satisfies 18 credit hours towards an associates degree in criminal justice.

Law enforcement officers are greatly needed as a shortage still exists with many departments reporting vacancies throughout North Carolina. Starting salaries for entry level officers vary based on location from $35,000 to $45,000 with opportunities to advance.
