Presidential Profile and Application Process

The Board of Trustees of Robeson Community College invites nominations and applications for the position of President of Robeson Community College. The successful candidate must meet the following minimum qualifications for the position:


  • a master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution is required; an earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution is preferred.


  • at least five years of experience in a senior leadership position in higher education or equivalent experience.
  • preferred experience and/or knowledge in the rules and regulations of the NC Community College System.

Ideally, the successful candidate will possess the qualities identified in the Presidential Profile.

Robeson Community College is located in Lumberton, North Carolina and is a member of the North Carolina Community College System. The main campus rests alongside Interstate 95 in southeastern North Carolina. Robeson County, North Carolina is the 23rd largest county in North Carolina.  The college had a full-time equivalent student curriculum enrollment of 2,486 for 2017-18 and served 936 college and career readiness students.  Another 5,391 adults were served annually in continuing education and workforce development programs in 2017-2018.  The RCC Foundation cultivates and manages donations for Robeson Community College including donations from private donors, alumni, employees, corporations, and in-kind gifts. These resources provide college access for students to attain their educational and career goals. The Foundation manages over $2.3 million in investments that generate funds for the various scholarships.  There is an Early College High School located on the main campus that was named a 2012 National Blue Ribbon High School. The Robeson Early College enrollment for 2018 was 552 students.
