PARAMEDIC NIGHT CLASS      

February 16, 2021 – November 18, 2021

The paramedic course is designed to produce competent entry-level Paramedics who can provide treatment to the community in emergency situations. Paramedics assess the urgent needs of patients and stabilize their condition until they receive advanced care. This treatment includes advanced life support, advanced patient assessment, airway management, pharmacological interventions and critical decision making. A paramedic may perform intravenous therapy, electrical cardioversion, induction of hypothermia, surgical airway, drug administration, and many other skills often performed in uncontrolled environments. There will be additional fees of approximately $195.00 for supplies, manual, etc. Prerequisites: H.S. diploma or equivalent, North Carolina EMT Credential and required test scores. COMMUNITY PARAMEDIC COURSE

Requirements: Current NC Paramedic of National Registry credential

Community Paramedicine is an emerging healthcare delivery model that increases access to basic services through the use of specialty trained EMS providers in an expanded role.  Community Paramedics care for patients at their home or in other non-emergent setting outside of a hospital, under the supervision of a physician or advanced practice provider.
