Robeson Community College

Culinary Arts students to train with Celebrity Chef Aquilino

RCC has received new equipment for its culinary arts, baking and pastry arts, and hospitality programs. The equipment was purchased over the summer to enhance the program and the quality of instruction for students to prepare them for the real world.

“This is an example of Robeson Community College’s dedication to training and new technology for our program areas,” said Chef Lester Locklear, program director.

In addition to new equipment, the college will also receive a visit from a World-Renowned Celebrity Chef and Brand Ambassador Chef Chris Aquilino. He is expected to arrive on campus at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 23.

“Chef Aquilino will be on our campus to demo and teach us how to use the new equipment,” said Locklear. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our students to meet and train with a celebrity chef and to also work on new state-of-the-art equipment.”

Aquilino is an award-winning chef, author, food stylist and photographer, with 30 plus years of industry experience. He is classically trained in culinary arts and has built the majority of his knowledge working side-by-side with some of the most talented master chefs and culinary teams in the world. Aquilino serves on multiple national culinary advisory boards and serves as a consultant for businesses throughout the United States.
