Student Activities

RCC has a number of clubs and organizations that may be of interest to you as a student. Joining a club or organization will enhance your academic as well as your personal life. A growing list of current club and organization websites along with advisor names and contact numbers can be found below.

Student Government Association
The purpose of the Student Government Association at Robeson Community College is to enhance the quality of student life by committing ourselves to service and engaging our fellow students. Student Government serves as the voice of the student body in the affairs of the college. We are committed making information regarding SGA readily accessible. We hope that you will find the contents of the SGA web site useful. We are excited for the beginning of a new semester, if you have comments, suggestions or complaints, feel free to contact us. We are the voice of the student body, make your voice heard.

BOOST  
Better Occupational Outcomes with Simulated Training (BOOST) is an innovative program funded by the US Department of Labor. BOOST is a training program designed to enhance Robeson Community College’s commitment to provide students with new pathways to healthcare careers.  BOOST will select 48 students each semester to take part in a structured learning community.  The program will use high-tech simulators and virtual reality to train students with no previous healthcare experience.  Using this technology and online coursework, students can earn one of a variety of credentials within two semesters.  BOOST’s local pages can be found here.

Phi Theta Kappa
 Phi Theta Kappa’s mission is two-fold:
 1) recognize and encourage academic achievement of two-year college students and
 2) provide opportunities for individual growth and development through participation in honors, leadership, service and fellowship programming.

Honors College

Minority Male Achievement Program
The goal of the Minority Male Achievement Program is to establish an environment of success for minority male students leading to program completion/graduation and rewarding employment.

Students Helping Other People (SHOP)
The mission of Students Helping Other People is to serve our community with resources and actions by utilizing our voices and deeds through the unity of giving at Robeson Community College.

Student Veterans Organization (SVO)  Student Veterans Organization is dedicated to ensuring these veterans do not slip through the cracks of their journey through higher education toward a better quality of life.  SVO exists to provide military veterans with resources, support, and advocacy needed to succeed in higher education.

Student Ambassadors
Student Ambassadors are representatives of Robeson Community College at institutional functions and in recruitment.  They also assist with student, civic and cultural activities.  Student Ambassadors represent the elite, diversity of RCC’s student body and are expected to maintain the highest standards of academic honesty and responsible behavior required by Robeson Community College.

National Technical Honor Society
Students eligible for membership in the Honor Society must be actively enrolled in a certificate, degree or diploma program, excluding college transfer, and must have completed 12 semester hours at Robeson Community College and have a grade point average of 3.25 or higher. This Honor Society is available to part-time and full-time students. Students must be nominated by at least one teaching faculty member.

TRIO-Student Support Services
 Serving 160 students and located in Building 14, Room 1442B, TRIO provides counseling, tutoring, workshops and cultural trips.  TRIO serves selected first generation college students of low income-as determined by federal guidelines, disabled registered/documented) and/or students with academic need.

RCC Astronomy Club
The Astronomy Club’s space mission has ended, but they left behind some cool links to NASA and outerspace!

RCC Association of Educational Office Professionals (employee organization)
The Robeson Community College Association of Educational Office Professional is dedicated to the achievement of the professionalism of educational office personnel and to the improvement of the quality of service provided for students, educators, and the community.  To this end, the RCCAEOP shall strive to elevate the standards of educational office personnel by the exchange and pooling of information, ideas, and ideals.
