Degree and Enrollment Verification (and why this may be important to employers)

A note for employers: Why are colleges and employers alike using a service like the NSC? One reason is that with the advent of the Internet, there has been an increase of degree mills which are churning out thousands of bogus degrees. One of the advantages for employers is that the burden of establishing the authenticity of institutions and credentials is shifted to a third party. Employers who hire from all over the country may especially be interested in routine verification through the NSC.
Currently Enrolled Students:
RCC is investigating a means for students to access enrollment verification without charge from the National Student Clearinghouse. In the meantime, you might check with the organization requesting proof of enrollment to see if they would accept a printout of your schedule from WebAdvisor as proof of enrollment.
WebAdvisor will also allow currently enrolled students to print unofficial transcripts, your class schedule, and your grade point average. Be sure to select "curriculum" from the drop-down list.
