Criminal Justice Instructor/Basic Law Enforcement Training School Director (BLET)
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications — A Master's degree with at least (18) graduate semester hours in Criminal Justice. Must be currently certified or eligible to be certified as a School Director and a criminal justice instructor with the NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission. Must be certified or eligible to certified with the NC Sheriff's Education and Training Standards Commission or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications — A Masters Degree in Criminal Justice with two (2) years experience in a community college setting. Must be a physical fitness instructor or willing to become one. All other minimum qualifications apply.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent will have the following duties and responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, coordinate and deliver each Commission-certificate criminal justice training course.
- Evaluate all instructors in the program and document evidence of effective instruction.
- Work closely with the NC Department of Justice Standards Division.
- Work closely with the law enforcement agencies.
- Possess strong administrative, written, and interpersonal skills. Communication.
- Serve on college committees as requested.
- Teach a minimum of nine (9) hours in criminal justice.
- Ability and willingness to teach online courses.
- Coordinate and/or instruct the delivery of in-service.
- Work closely with Sheriff's Education and Training Standards Commission.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
SALARY:
$51,744 to $74,808 annually, as determined according to RCC's Salary Plan, applicant's education and work experience.
