Program Director, Surgical Technology Program
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Qualifications — A diploma in Surgical Technology from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP); three years of current operating room experience; current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) license; teaching, clinical coordinator and/or preceptor experience with students enrolled in a surgical technology program.
Preferred Qualifications — Bachelor’s degree in an Allied Health related program area from an institution accredited by a regional accrediting agency; current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) license; three years of current operating room experience; teaching, clinical coordinator and/or preceptor experience with students enrolled in a surgical technology program.
**If incumbent is hired with the minimum qualifications, he/she must complete an advanced degree within 4 years of employment. **
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent will have the following duties and responsibilities:
- Organize, administer reviews, develop, and assure program effectiveness
- Maintains knowledge of and compliance with the State Board Community Colleges approved standards for the curriculum
- Maintains knowledge and compliance with Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARC/STSA) standards, rules and regulations applicable to surgical technology
- Conduct ongoing program level assessment
- Participate in budget planning
- Evaluate and assure clinical education effectiveness
- Assume the leadership role in the continued development of the program
- Teach classes day and/or evening and Internet courses
- Teach off campus as required
- Academic advising Serve on college committees as requested
- Perform other duties as necessary
- Function as a member of the Educational Services Team
- Commit to RCC for a minimum of two years
SALARY:
The salary will be determined in accordance with RCC's Salary Plan and the applicant's education and work experience. Salary range:
$55,089 - $77,272 annually
