RCC Accreditation Reaffirmed
The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools’ Commission on Colleges Board of Trustees met to consider action regarding the accreditation status of institutions reviewed during 2009-10. Forty colleges from as far west as Texas and as far east as Virginia had their accreditation reaffirmed by the Board. Among those reaffirmed was Robeson Community College.
This is good news for the College and documents that the College is improving instruction and support services for the citizens of Robeson County and the state of North Carolina.
Accreditation by the SACS Commission on Colleges signifies that the institution 1) has a mission appropriate to higher education; 2) has resources, programs, and services sufficient to accomplish and sustain that mission; and 3) maintains clearly specified educational objectives that are consistent with its mission and appropriate to the degrees it offers. This is a great compliment to you, as trustees, and your employees.Officials from RCC and UNC-Pembroke met on June 16 to refine the RCC/UNC-P Bridge Program for students in the Associate Degree Nursing program. This program allows RCC students who desire to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing to do so through a closely coordinated curriculum bridge crafted by the nursing faculty at the two institutions.
