1. Can I take all the related classes before being accepted into the program?
Yes. In fact the student who completes the related classes early is more successful in the respiratory program because the student can give full focus to the respiratory classes.

2. Can I take Introduction to Respiratory before being accepted into the program?
No. All classes with the RCP prefix can only be taken after official acceptance.

3. How far will I have to travel for clinicals?
Currently we have 9 clinical sites every student is required to attend. The outlying hospitals are Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington and Cape Fear Valley Health System in Fayetteville.

4. Does the school help any with gas or transportation?
No. We encourage students to have a reliable car and to have funds saved for gas. However, students may save on gas by carpooling to Wilmington and Fayetteville.

5. What background is required to excel in the respiratory program?
Students should have a solid background in math and science. Also, any hospital experience is helpful.

6. What is the job market like for a respiratory therapist?
Currently, respiratory therapists are in demand. Most of our students have jobs before graduation and our graduates have a 100% job placement rate.
