The Cosmetology curriculum is designed to provide competency-based knowledge, scientific/artistic principles, and hands-on fundamentals associated with the cosmetology industry. Upon completion the student will be awarded the Diploma. Below is a list of required courses in the Cosmetology curriculum.

Cosmetology students enrolled in the program have two options:
- Upon completion of requirements, the students will apply for Apprentice Certificate of Registration with 1200 hours and services to the North Carolina State Board of Cosmetic Art.
- The second option is to complete a total of 1500 hours and complete the requirements to apply for a Cosmetology Certificate of Registration to the North Carolina State Board of Cosmetic Art.
Upon passing the 1500 hour examination, students enter the field as a Cosmetologist working without supervision. If the student chooses to take the 1200 hour exam upon passing, he or she must work as an Apprentice under the supervision of a licensed Cosmetologist to complete six months of training or remain in school for an additional 300 hours.
