30th Robeson County Law Enforcement Memorial to be held May 12

Robeson Community College will pay tribute to law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty on Thursday, May 12 in honor of National Police Week during the 30th Annual Robeson County Executive Law Enforcement Officers’ Association Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony.

National Police Week is observed every year in May throughout the United States that pays tribute to the local, state, and federal officers who have died or disabled, in the line of duty

The ceremony will take place at 10:00 am in front of the Sammy Cox Law Enforcement Center and will include speakers, a rendition of the National Anthem, TAPS, as well as a 21-gun salute.

Names of each officer killed in the line of duty from the region, dating as far back as the 1800’s will be read aloud.

This event is open to the public and will be broadcast on Facebook Live by the RCC BLET Director, Rudy Locklear, and can be watched at https://www.facebook.com/RCCLET.
